Getting Ready to Start!
After the decision yesterday to get started with a new and healthy lifestyle, I woke up this morning and was terrible — I ate pizza for breakfast. It was there and it was just going to get thrown away, so that was my rationalization.
After eating it, I kicked myself for doing it and I realized that if I was going to actually be serious about this — I needed a plan. I needed a health plan not just for my exercise routine, but also a food plan.
I cleaned out the entire refrigerator and threw out leftover birthday cake, frosting, cheeses, leftovers and bunch of things that just needed to go. If it’s not in the house — I usually don’t think about it. But if it’s here, I’ll probably end up eating it.
After I informed my husband that I wouldn’t be baking cookies or cakes until Christmas, he groaned and tried to ignore me. I was determined though!
I sat down and made up a weekly food plan. I actually charted out 10 days of meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also wrote down a list of snacks that I was allowed to have. I decided to give myself up to 2 snacks per day.
I’m not the kind of person that waits and starts their lifestyle change tomorrow – I decided to start it NOW.
After I was rotten for breakfast (which was really more of an earlier lunch), I had a mid-afternoon snack of low-fat blueberry yogurt.
For dinner, I made broiled tilapia with a small baked potato and a salad with fat-free dressing. If I get those sugar cravings which I’m famous for later in the evening, I’ll probably indulge in a small glass of chocolate skim milk or grab one of my Weight Watchers Fudge Ice Cream Bars.
I have an appointment with a personal trainer tomorrow afternoon to find out my real body age. I will post my starting weight, body fat percentage and all other information that he provides me. I’ll be completely and brutally honest here and if I cheat, you’ll know it. If I’m successful, you’ll know it.
I intend to post my daily meals, daily exercise and also any time I deviate from my plan.
Good for you, I’ll be rooting for you!
Thanks for the words of encouragement! I really appreciate it!!!
