Flab or Fab?

A journey towards better health.

I’m not going to let ANYTHING stop me!

After my mishap yesterday with the personal trainer, I’ve made a decision to not let anything stop me from achieving my goals.

While I would love to have a personal trainer cater to me 3 times a week, I just can’t afford to pay over a thousand dollars a month when I KNOW that I can do this on my own.  I just need a little bit of guidance and need to do a little bit of research.

I’ve been using the Calorie Count website for quite awhile now.  I started on this site a year ago to try and log in my calories and to determine more appropriate portion sizes.  I’ve just recently started entering my information again and using their calorie charts as a guide.

I was incredibly good yesterday and wasn’t hungry in the slightest.  I consumed approximately 1400 calories yesterday (see menu below).  If I follow the Calorie Counter advice on keeping my intake below 1400, I should be at my ideal weight of 140 within one year.

Breakfast – Total Calories: 223

Total Raisin Bran with skim milk

            Hard boiled egg, no yolk

Snack – Total Calories:  100

            Granola bar

Lunch – Total Calories: 406

            Turkey sandwich on whole wheat

Snack – Total Calories:  160

            Small bunch of grapes

            Reduced fat string cheese

Dinner – Total Calories:  380

Chicken Fajita (homemade) on whole wheat tortilla

            Salad with fat-free dressing

Desert – Total Calories:  136

            Small glass chocolate milk

Grand Total:  1405!

One thing that I have realized so far is that I have to cook in such a way that I will be able to maintain this for the rest of my life.  I know that if I deprive myself of things that I love, I won’t be able to stick to this lifestyle change.  So I allow myself the things that I love.  The things that I ate yesterday were things that I enjoy and know that I can continue to eat for the rest of my life.
